Key Contributors/Supporters: An Introduction
Since the early 1990s, Reena and Mary Centre have been providing a range of services and support to persons with Developmental Disabilities (DD). The two agencies are recognized leaders in developing partnerships and collaborative service models for such individuals.
The Ontario Partnership on Aging & Developmental Disabilities (OPADD) is a ground-breaking informal partnership of service providers in the continuum of senior services and Developmental Disabilities (DD). This includes regional committees, local cross-sector pilot projects, provincial associations, planning bodies, educational institutions, researchers and policy-makers.
OPADD is dedicated to ensuring quality of life for older adults with Developmental Disabilities (DD) through transition planning that includes equal access to seniors’ community and residential programs. The Toronto Partnership on Aging and Developmental Disabilities (TPADD) is a regional committee of OPADD, which works to build partnerships between the long-term care and developmental services sectors, primarily through planning and knowledge exchange.
More information about these organizations and associations can be found on Resources or on Reena’s website under Ontario Partnership on Aging & Developmental Disabilities.
